Weekly Photo Challenge: Object

The object that was the inspiration and is the subject of  this photo, is a statue of a weeping woman at the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise in Paris, truly one of the most beautiful and famous cemeteries in the world.   Notable people who are buried there include: Frédéric Chopin, Oscar Wilde, Sarah Bernhardt, Marcel Proust, Isadora Duncan, Alice B. Toklas and Jim Morrison to name a few. There are so many beautiful tombs and statues there but the weeping lady who stands over the Moreau-Vauthier family tomb is one of my favorites. I came upon her by chance and had to take this photo. Oh but to have such a “belle femme” weeping over you for all eternity…

Below is a link to a virtual tour of Père-Lachaise.

About joliepetitemaison

"In the end, it’s not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away" Shing Xiong. My quest is my passion to find beauty in all things. To remember to try to live in the moment, to really “see” and hopefully to capture the beauty that surrounds us in everyday life. I aspire to transcend traditional ideas and to creatively through my photographs express my own unique point of view.
